Rudy Guevara honored us with some words of inspiration and wisdom to our young Spartans on Saturday August 11th, 2018 (we call it “Rudy Day”).
Rudy spoke at Roger Fernando Gymnasium in Gonzales High School to members of the community and our Football student athletes. The event was open to anyone in the community who wanted to hear his story.
Rudy spoke about growing at Gonzales and how sports had a huge impact on his life. He stressed the importance of work ethic, the friendships we keep, and seizing the moment we live in. He shared anecdotes about his childhood, Forrest Gump the movie, and how he met 3 Kennedy’s in his life time.
If you wish you could have been there, then look at the full video on the GHS Football Facebook page.
After his speech, Coach Berlanga awarded Rudy a plaque on behalf of Shield Bearers and the Football program for his hard work in the community. Shield Bearers hosted a BBQ for everyone in attendance and we ate, continued the conversation, and even got to take pictures with Rudy.
Thank you Rudy for coming in to share your inspirational story to our kids.
